Message from the Country Manager

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of who we are and how we do business at Scotiabank. Our commitment to CSR provides us with a competitive edge: it contributes to customer and employee satisfaction, helps us meet shareholder expectations, and broadens our community relationships.

Most importantly, we are committed to operating as a socially responsible company because we believe that it’s the right thing to do. CSR now plays a role in many of the decisions we make every day at Scotiabank, from how we choose our suppliers to how we evaluate the risk and opportunities associated with lending to our corporate banking customers.

Each year we further build upon our CSR foundation, including many innovative, locally-based initiatives brought to life through the efforts and enthusiasm of our own employees. For example, throughout the year our employees spend thousands of hours on volunteering and fundraising activities, which are enhanced through the Scotiabank’s matching programmes and annual corporate donations to community causes worldwide.
